What is hypnosis and hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is a different psychological state between sleep and wakefulness; it is never a state of sleep. Brain electro, EEG studies also show this. Under hypnosis, the person’s attention is generally turned inward. They move away from the outside world in a controlled way. Their ability to receive suggestions increases. And therapy takes place through the suggestions given. There is nothing strange or mysterious in the state of hypnosis. It is a completely normal state, similar to daydreaming during the day or the states just before falling asleep. Um, actually we experience hypnosis states frequently during the day, but most of the time we do not know that it is hypnosis. There are times when we go into hypnosis for hours during the day. For example, sometimes when returning home by car, music takes me somewhere. I think about things. I arrive home. I do not remember which roads I took. At that moment we are in hypnosis, or while watching a match, while watching a movie on television, we also experience hypnosis frequently. Sometimes, um, most of us have experienced it. We think that we need to get up at five in the morning, and we have woken up by ourselves at exactly that time. This is also a hypnosis state. Children also get hypnotized. A child who is absorbed in playing with their toys—if they do not hear you when you call them, they are actually in hypnosis. However, hypnosis and hypnotherapy are different things. Hypnotherapy is the treatment done through hypnosis, and in my opinion it is the path that leads to real healing. If we liken hypnosis to a syringe, hypnotherapy is the medicine in the syringe, and what does the real treatment is the medicine, not the syringe. But the syringe is also a tool that enables the medicine to reach the place where it will take effect. Hypnotherapy was accepted as a psychotherapy method by the American Medical Association in nineteen fifty-eight and it was recommended to be taught to physicians. Hypnotherapy is widely used in the world by doctors, psychologists, dentists. I also use hypnotherapy widely in many areas in my clinic.
