How can we overcome cigarette addiction? | Holistic Healing Series with Dr. Ender Vardar

Recently, a doctor friend of mine had applied for a smoking liberation session. He had had a heart attack and thank God he overcame these. And he also has difficulty quitting smoking. He is already a doctor with his conscious mind. So he knows the harms of smoking. But the subconscious mind knows different things and makes him smoke. While talking about these, he mentioned that he described smoking as his best friend. He talked about it as an element that reduces his stress, relaxes him, loosens him, and on the other hand, something that is the reason for his heart attack.

While he says more like “I am young, my daughter is very small, I want to live,” the unconscious mind may have coded smoking as “I relax you, I loosen you, I make your life easier.” One of the most effective methods to change this is hypnotherapy, by reaching the unconscious, rearranging this emotion and giving the person new experiences; for example, when the desire to smoke comes, when he takes it in his hand, he will notice this. He will take it and you will relax. Or I can put drinking water instead of smoking under hypnotic trance. I can put breathing, or I can put whatever the person wants. Thus, when the desire to smoke comes, instead of acting automatically, by getting out of autopilot and bringing consciousness into the work, and at the same time solving the emotion in the unconscious, the person can very easily become free from smoking. The most important part behind our behaviors is our emotions. Of course, our thoughts, our behaviors, our emotions, our values are very important.

If we understand the emotion behind what we do, for example, why do we eat when we are full? Do we eat when we are angry? When we are lonely, when we are disappointed? In the same way, for example, we can also notice the emotions behind the behaviors related to smoking. Do we smoke when we are irritated, when we are angry? Do we use smoking to take a break? Do we see it as a friend that relaxes us? When we think about these, we go to the emotional area in the unconscious. In our brain, there is a place we call the hypothalamus, a place that manages our emotions. This is our unconscious area. A very large part of our brain consists of the unconscious. When we integrate the conscious mind and the unconscious mind, hypnotherapy works very well here. We can get very good results. Generally, the therapies I define as a smoking liberation session last a few sessions. In some, one session; in some, three, four sessions. If there is a different emotion behind in the unconscious related to smoking and it needs to be worked on more, we work more. On average, in two or three sessions, the person can become free from smoking without being overwhelmed, without getting bored. When we reach the emotions behind all our behaviors, for example anger, emotions, procrastination behavior, and when we rearrange that emotion, recovery becomes much faster. Hypnotherapy can also help us a lot here.
